10 Minutes a Day!?
/Hello Friends,
Taking a deep breath. Sending a wide smile. May this teeny note brighten your day!
"Creativity doesn't wait for that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones." -- Bruce Garrabrandt
These are challenging times. I don’t need to tell you that! Honestly.
However.
Creativity often gets lost in times that are riff with overwhelm or loneliness.
But it doesn’t have to!
I find myself with too much, or not enough stimulation.
Many of us overworked and some of us not.
As winter nears I know I need structured time to be creative. So here it is.
10 minutes a day!
Of pointed creativity time!
At a Minimum.
At the end of the day for me. 7ish p.m.
I take my ukulele up to the guest room.
Or I work on a soul collage.
See photo!
I listen to a lesson and play along.
Or I choose, and cut, and paste.
I am often there for more than 10 minutes!! Love that.
The short commitment and sense of getting fully immersed in the present moment!
DE-licious.
My plan is for every night.
I’m on a roll this week. 3 out of 4!
I sense my lips curled up in a smile as I place the uke back in its soft case and tuck it in for the night, or thoughtfully gaze at the combination of images I put together.
I feel energizedly (just made that word up!) sleepy.
Engaged with the inner muse.
Want to try this!
Commit 10 minutes.
Pick one thing.
Journal. Draw. Sing. Dance. Play an instrument. Write out some jokes. Cook something. Repair something. Collage. Paper mache. Grow something.
Sing or play with someone else. (extra credit for doing it communally!)
Put it on your calendar. Now is a good time to do it!
Evenings or early mornings are often easiest for many of us.
Commit to a one month trial.
Aim for daily and if you do 60-70% say YAY! ---remember perfection is overrated and unrealistic.
Lastly. After a week...notice how life feels with a bit more creativity in it?!
If you need more than creativity to deal with the overwhelm or loneliness. Remember I listen and discern and lift up for a living!
Email me. I’m right HERE.
You matter.
Every precious thing matters.
Much love,
Carol
