The Unheard of Importance of Listening is an invitation for you to join me in unbinding listening.

Like breathing. We are in a relationship with this elemental quality. Before we take our first independent breath. In the womb. We are listening.

My sense--Our listening body---is so enormously related to who we were, who we are, and who we are becoming. It’s like the elephant in the room that many of us don't notice the sheen of.

My reignited curiosity about the gift listening is, occurred during the COVID lockdowns.

A friend sent me a newscast to listen to. It was a newsperson I didn’t like. I didn’t like their politics. The way they communicated. The way they wielded power. Most of the way they expressed facts, opinions and stories and the way they talked about things they didn’t agree with. Whew.

This time though. Something they said resonated as a truth to my body.

It twitched a bit.

I had to go back and listen again.

It felt like something was ripping open inside me.

My entire story of how I see myself, who I align with, how I see the world, where truth comes from, all came tumbling down.

And what arose from the smoldering moment was---an opening to question how, who, what where from---am I listening? And how does it become me?

It was scary and unsettling and liberating.

Growth is exponential when we join each other. When we gather. Explore this with a friend, family member or child!

Hugs and Love,

Carol
