What is my place in the ongoing conversation about how we share and care for our world? 

Particularly, how do we care for the neediest among us, including the more than human world who is speaking up loudly right now!

With that in mind I offer up these 50+  Juicy questions for you to explore for yourself, with your family, friends, co-workers, or tribe.

I recently finished Tribes by Seth Godin.

This book is about encouraging you and I to be leaders. It’s done with humor, irreverence and it made me feel hopeful that we the masses can make a difference.

I see a need for leadership particularly around social justice as that is something that has been near and dear to my heart most of my life.

My July reads.

I love these three books.

Here’s why.

For me to take in information I have a need for transparency. As much as I love new information and practices I can best fully take it in when delivered from an expert who allows me to see their humanness.

I’ve been contemplating and exploring what the “third body” means for years. I recently shared my thoughts at a women’s circle. It made for a very stimulating and enlightening conversation.

Robert Bly’s poem was what inspired me.

A relationship between two people has three components  A me, a you, and a “we” (third body.) These particular lines from the poem struck me

I am reading Drawdown edited by Paul Hawken.  In it scientists and policymakers around the world list the 100 most substantive solutions to reverse global warming. They ranked solutions based on the total amount of greenhouse gases they can potentially avoid or remove from the atmosphere.

I resigned from a Nurse/Health Coach position at a big organization last week and it’s been bittersweet. I’ve made deep friends.It’s how it is when you are hired to support healing. Without this aching heart I might not be as aware of how much people matter to me. Ah, being human.

Weight.

Even as I sat down to write this post I thought yikes, this is a complicated topic and their are minefields anyone reading this can fall into. I want to acknowledge that right out of the gate.

And I want to share a practice and open up the topic a bit.

I walked Pilot Butte this morning.

On my way down I walked by a mother who seemed really upset at her child. He looked like he was about ten years old and overweight by our standards. She was calling him a loser because he didn’t want to keep walking up. She said it three or four times and then she started walking ahead of him.

I live in an intentional community. I know all my neighbors by name. We have fun working, conversing, eating and exploring together. We have a big garden. I really appreciate all those fresh veggies!  We struggle with conflict, we learn and we grow.
