Bittersweet Endings and Beginnings

I live in an intentional community. I know all my neighbors by name. We have fun working, conversing, eating and exploring together. We have a big garden. I really appreciate all those fresh veggies! We struggle with conflict, we learn and we grow.

It pertains to all Mothers; rich, poor, black, latino, native american or white.
I was saying to myself this morning. Where have you been that you didn’t fully understand the price of motherhood and didn’t take the time to educate yourself?
I know I’ve been complacent because it’s been okay. Being a white woman with enough privilege to be okay meant not really understanding that equality is not anywhere close to being true in the USA. Especially for Mothers.
